Jaigaon | SP Capsules & Wincerex Cough Syrup worth Rupees 1 Lakh seized, 1 Arrested.
Smuggling & consumption of drugs and contrabands has become a menace in the Indo-Bhutan border towns. The smuggling is in rise during this pandemic. Where people are left unemployed, youths and peddlers are said to be deeply indulged in such practices. Easy money is said to be main cause behind such acts. As per police most of them are seasoned peddlers. Nowadays, just to earn easy money, even youths from well to do families are after such illicit trade.
Today on 09-01-2022 at around 18:00 hours on prior information, officers and force of Jaigaon PS conducted raid and search operation in the house of known drug peddler namely Kancha aka Suk Bahadur Subba 28yrs s/o Lt Rithey Subba and seized 1062 strips of SPS Primevon capsules with 100 bottles of Wincerex cough syrup valued rupees one lakhs from Dalsingpara Ran Bahadur busty.
“A specific case under NDPS Act is being initiated against the accused person and he will be forwarded to NDPS Court” said Souvik Majumdar, OC Jaigaon Police Station
“We have zero tolerance against drug peddlers and smuggling of contrabands. With available resources and manpower, we are trying to curb Drugs abuse from Jaigaon.” said OC Souvik Majumdar
