
Alleged Khalistani Terrorist Apprehended in Jaigaon by Joint Operation of Jaigaon and Punjab Police

In a successful operation conducted on July 4th, Jaigaon Police, in collaboration with the Punjab Police Detective unit, apprehended Jasprit Singh. Singh was accused of assaulting an individual in the Batala district of Punjab and had sought refuge in Jaigaon, West Bengal.

According to sources, Jasprit Singh is believed to have links with a Khalistani terrorist group. However, Gurinder Veer Singh, DSP detective Batala, stated that the details surrounding the case are still unclear, and an investigation is currently underway to establish the facts.
Thanks to the swift action and utilization of technical intelligence by the Alipurduar Police, Jasprit Singh was located and captured at a hotel in the Jaigaon supermarket area.
“A source said that during the raid process, two improvised pistols (firearms) in a loaded and cocked state were recovered. The apprehension process was strenuous, and the police faced resistance from the accused. Alipurduar SP Y. Raghuvamshi was present in Jaigaon during the evening of the apprehension. “The joint efforts of the West Bengal Police and Punjab Police ensured the success of the operation.

On July 5th, Jasprit Singh was handed over to the Punjab police. The DSP mentioned that the suspect would be presented before the court before being transported back to Punjab to undergo further legal proceedings.
